The B.Sc. program under the School of Sciences at IGNOU has undergone several revisions and updates over the years to ensure that it remains aligned with the latest advancements in scientific knowledge and the evolving needs of students. The current program structure, implemented under the University Grants Commission’s (UGC) Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS), provides students with greater flexibility in selecting courses and tailoring their studies to their specific interests and career aspirations.

The B.Sc. program at IGNOU BSCG offers seven disciplines for specialization:

• Botany: This discipline focuses on the study of plants, their structure, classification, physiology, and ecological interactions.
• Chemistry: This discipline explores the composition, structure, properties, and transformations of matter and energy.
• Geography: This discipline examines the Earth’s physical and human landscapes, including its geographical features, climate, natural resources, and human settlements.
• Geology: This discipline delves into the study of the Earth’s structure, composition, and history, including its geological processes, rocks, minerals, and landforms.
