JEE Advanced Selection Process 2025

The JEE Advanced Selection Process 2025 involves multiple stages to ensure a thorough evaluation of candidates. Here’s an overview:

Computer-Based Test

The first stage of the Selection Process 2025 is the Computer-Based Test (CBT). This rigorous examination is designed to assess candidates’ understanding and proficiency in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The test consists of two papers, each featuring a mix of multiple-choice questions, numerical answer type questions, and match-the-following questions. The CBT is conducted in a highly controlled environment to ensure fairness and accuracy in evaluating the candidates’ knowledge and problem-solving abilities.

Counselling & Seat Allocation

After the results of the Computer-Based Test are announced, qualified candidates proceed to the Counseling and Seat Allocation stage, managed by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). During this process, candidates are required to register and fill in their preferences for various IITs and other participating institutions. Based on their ranks and the availability of seats, candidates are allocated seats in their preferred courses and institutes. This stage is crucial as it determines the final placement of candidates into their desired academic programs.

JEE Advanced Eligibility 2025

Before applying for the exam, you need to fulfill the eligibility criteria laid by the exam conducting authorities. Below are the five essential JEE Advanced Eligibility criteria you must fulfill in case you are anticipating to appear for the JEE Advanced exam 2025.

  • Candidates must have cleared the 10+2 level/equivalent exam. Those who are appearing for the exam in 2025 can also apply for the exam.
  • It is crucial for candidates to clear the JEE Main exam in order to appear for the JEE advanced exam. Candidates must be among to 2,50,000 candidates in the B.E/B.Tech Paper of the Mains Exam.
  • Candidates must have born on or after 1st October 1999.

JEE Advanced Exam Pattern 2025

It is crucial to be familiar with the Exam pattern in detail in order to crack the JEE Advanced exam. Understanding the exam pattern will help you with the JEE Advanced stringent marking scheme.

  • JEE Advanced Paper 1 consists of 51 questions divided into four sections, with a total of 180 marks, and each subject (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) contains 17 questions.
  • The marking scheme for Paper 1 varies by section, with Section I offering +3 for a correct answer and -1 for incorrect, while Section II provides partial credits for partially correct answers.
  • In Paper 1, Section III rewards +4 for correct answers without negative marking, while Section IV also has negative marking for incorrect attempts.
  • JEE Advanced Paper 2 maintains the same structure as Paper 1, with 51 questions in total, each subject comprising 17 questions and divided into four sections with a total of 180 marks.
  • The marking scheme for Paper 2 varies similarly, with Section I and IV having negative marking for incorrect answers, while Sections II and III offer partial credits for partially correct responses.

JEE Advanced Syllabus 2025

The  Syllabus 2025 encompasses topics from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics that align with the 10+2 curriculum. Physics includes topics like Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism, Optics, and Modern Physics. Chemistry covers Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry, focusing on fundamental principles and applications. Mathematics includes Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, and Analytical Geometry. The syllabus aims to test a comprehensive understanding of these subjects, emphasizing problem-solving skills and conceptual clarity. Preparation requires a thorough study of these topics to excel in the JEE Advanced exam.

JEE Advanced Cut Off

The cut-off is a critical benchmark used to determine the minimum score required for candidates to qualify for admission into prestigious IITs and other top engineering institutions. It is based on various factors, including the difficulty level of the exam, the number of candidates appearing, and the availability of seats in participating institutions. The cut-off is released after the exam results and is used to shortlist candidates for the next stages of the admission process, such as counseling and seat allocation. Understanding the cut-off helps candidates gauge their performance and plan their subsequent steps in the admission process effectively.

JEE Advanced Result

The JEE Advanced Result is a pivotal outcome for candidates aspiring to enter premier engineering institutions like IITs. It reflects the performance of each student in the examination and determines their eligibility for further stages in the admission process. Released a few weeks after the exam, the result includes important details such as the candidate’s score, rank, and overall performance. It is used to assess whether candidates meet the cut-off criteria and secure a place in their preferred institutes. The result is crucial as it influences subsequent steps, including counseling, seat allocation, and ultimately, admission into engineering programs.
