KCET 2025: Registration Out, Dates, Syllabus, Eligibility, Process

KCET 2025 Notification has been released on the official website. Eligible and Interested candidates can apply from 23rd January 2025 to 18th February 2025. The Karnataka Common Entrance Test is conducted to shortlist eligible candidates for admission to different undergraduate courses in Karnataka.

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has announced the KCET 2025 application form dates on its official website. Applicants can complete the registration process online at kea.kar.nic.in from January 23, 2025. The last date to submit the KCET application form is February 18, 2025. The application process includes registration, form filling, uploading documents, and fee payment. KCET 2025 is scheduled for April 16 to 18, 2025, offering admissions to engineering and other courses. The Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) is conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority to select candidates for the first semester of Engineering, Yoga and Naturopathy, Technology, Farm Sciences, and B-Pharm and Pharm-D courses for the new academic year.

  • The candidates who wish to join the Medical/ Dental/ Ayush courses should write the National Eligibility cum Entrance Exam. Make sure that you fulfill the KCET eligibility criteria before applying.
  • The candidates who wish to join the architecture courses should appear for the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA)
  • All the application processes for KCET should be carried out through the official website only.

What is KCET?

The Government of Karnataka, in 2006, converted the Common Entrance Test Cell into an autonomous body registered under Societies Registration Act 1960 called the “Karnataka Examinations Authority” (KEA). The Governing Council headed by the Honourable Minister of Higher Education, the Government of Karnataka governs the KEA. The KEA conducts the Karnataka Common Entrance Test to select Karnataka candidates and the wards of Jammu and Kashmiri migrants for certain courses.

The KCET 2025 selects candidates for the First Semester of full-time professional courses for Government share of seats and the second semester of certain courses in Government/ University/ Private-Aided/ Private Un-Aided Professional Educational Institutions in the State of Karnataka. KCET Exam Dates 2025

Knowing the KCET Exam Dates for each stage of the selection process is important for the candidates to plan their preparation accordingly. The stage-wise exam dates are listed below.

KCET 2025 Registration Process

The first step towards admission to your desired course is the registration process. The candidates need to register themselves on the official website. Through this registration, a username and password will be generated which should be used for all further steps in the admission process. The candidates should make sure that all the information provided is correct. The steps to register for the KCET are as follows.

Step 1: Visit the Official Website of KCET.

Step 2: Click on the “UGCET-2025 Online Application”.

Step 3: The candidates will be directed to another page, where they have to select the “New User? Click Here to Register”.

Step 4: Fill in all the required information in the form displayed.

Step 5: Candidates will receive their application number and user id in their registered email id and phone number. They then have to select a password.

Step 6: Click on the Final Submit option to complete the process.

KCET 2025 Application Process

After registering for the KCET the candidates have to complete their application form. They should use the user id and password created during the registration process to do the same. The steps to fill the KCET Application Form are as follows.

Step 1: Visit the Official Website of KCET

Navigate to the official Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) website, which serves as the primary platform for all application-related processes.

Step 2: Click on the “UGCET-2025 Online Application

Locate and click on the “UGCET-2025 Online Application” link to initiate your application process.

Step 3: Log in Using Your Credentials

You will be redirected to a login page where you need to enter your personal credentials to access your application.

Step 4: Make the Payment of the Application Fee

Choose any of the provided online payment gateways to securely pay for your application fee.

Step 5: Fill in the Application Form

Once payment is confirmed, complete the application form by filling in all required details, then click the “Save and Next” button.

Step 6: Upload Necessary Documents

Upload your Photograph, Candidate Signature, and Parent’s Signature in JPG/JPEG format as specified.

Step 7: Verify Details and Submit

Carefully review all the information you’ve entered, then click the final submit option to complete your application.

Step 8: Print Your Application Form

Your application form will be displayed; take a printout for your records and future reference.

KCET 2025 Application Fee

The candidates have to pay a certain amount to complete their application process. The application fee can be paid through any of the online payment gateways provided on the website. The online payment gateways provided are Credit/Debit Card, or UPI, BHIM, QR CODE, or, Net/Mobile Banking. The candidates have to pay the fee before the last date of the application. Any candidate who fails to pay the application fee will not be selected for the next steps in the admission process. The fee details for the candidates are as follows.

KCET Selection Process 2025

The candidates applying for the KCET must go through certain steps to be selected for their desired courses. The candidates should first apply for the examination on the official website. The candidates who wish to join the Engineering / Technology Courses, Farm Science Courses, Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, B-Pharma, 2nd Year B-Pharm, Pharm-D, and Naturopathy & Yoga should then take the KCET test. The results for the KCET will be published through the official website. After this, the candidates can select their options for courses. The candidates should fill in all the required details for this step and upload the documents too. After this, the candidates will be given instructions for further procedures with the result.

KCET 2025 Eligibility Criteria 

Applicants must fulfil the KCET Inspector Eligibility in order to apply for the KCET Exam. Candidates not fulfilling any of the KCET Exam Eligibility 2025 will be rejected with immediate effect. Given below are details of the same. 

  • Candidates aiming to apply for courses under the KCET must meet specific eligibility requirements for each program. For the B.Arch course, candidates should have completed their 2nd PUC/12th grade or a 10+3 Diploma with Mathematics.
  • For B.E/B.Tech, a minimum of 45% in 2nd PUC/12th with English, Physics, and Mathematics is required, while Farm Science aspirants need a similar background including Biology.
  • The B.V.Sc & A.H. program have passed the 2nd PUC/12th with 50% in core science subjects, as assessments include both CET scores and a practical test.
  • For B-Pharma, candidates must have 45% in relevant subject combinations, and 2nd Year B-Pharma requires a Diploma in Pharmacy.

KCET 2025 Syllabus 

The KCET 2025 syllabus provides an extensive framework for candidates preparing for this examination, essential for admission into various undergraduate programs in Karnataka. The syllabus contains key subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics, integrating crucial concepts from first and second-year Pre-University College (PUC) studies. As per the latest notice, an additional units has been introduced which aligns with the JEE Main 2025 and NEET syllabus. KCET 2025 Admit Card

The candidates can download their admit cards from the official website. The instructions to be carried out in the examination hall, the centre for examination, and the registration number for each candidate will be mentioned on the KCET admit card. If any candidate is found to not have the admit card they will not be allowed to write the examination. The candidates are recommended to keep the admit cards safe with them throughout the admission process. 

KCET 2025 Exam Centres

The candidates can select their preference for exam centres while filling out the application form. The KCET exam will be conducted in centres across Karnataka. The authority has the right to cancel any exam centre. The candidates seeking eligibility under Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga clauses should appear for the exam in a test centre located in Bangalore only. KCET 2025 Answer Key

The KCET Answer Key will be released on the official website. The candidates can download the answer keys for all four subjects from the official website. The steps to download the answer keys are as follows.

KCET 2025 Result and Scorecard

The candidates will be able to download the KCET results through the official website itself. The KCET results will include the scores of the candidates for each subject test, the total score and the rank obtained by them. The candidates can download the result by following the mentioned steps.

KCET 2025 Counselling

The counselling process of the KCET will be conducted partly online and partly offline. After the declaration of the results, the candidates need to register and fill in their choice of colleges and courses for admission. The option for this will be available in the admission portal. The candidates can check their rank in the merit list and apply for the KCET counselling session only after verifying whether they are eligible for the step. The candidates will have to upload their documents which will be verified by the authorities. Allotment of seats will be done considering the merit rank of the candidate and their preference for the courses and colleges. The candidates then will have to visit the college for the last step of admission and submit their documents.

KCET 2025 Cut-offs

The cut-off for the KCET exam will be released soon on the official website. The KCET cut off is likely to be announced with the results. The candidates can verify the cut-off and their results. With this, they will be able to know their eligibility for various courses and colleges. The cut-off will be released considering the factors such as the number of applicants, difficulty level of the exam, available seats, previous year’s cut-off trends, etc.
