SSC JHT 2025: Exam Dates, Syllabus, and More | Free SSC Updates

SSC JHT Notification 2025 has been released. A total number of 312 Vacancies have been announced for the post of Junior Hindi Translator in various Ministries/Departments/ Organizations of the Government of India. Candidates can apply from 2nd August 2025 to 25th August 2025. The selection is based on a Computer Based Test (Objective), Descriptive Test, Document Verification, and Medical Examination. Some Key highlights of the SSC JHT Recruitment are:

  • The age of the candidates must be between 18 – 30 years.
  • There will be two stages of selection i.e. Paper I (CBT) and Paper-II (Descriptive).
  • Candidates shortlisted as Junior Hindi Translators (JHT) will be given salary in the pay-level 7 of 7th CPC matrix i.e., (Rs.35400- 112400).

SSC JHT Vacancy 2025

The SSC JHT Vacancies for the 2025 cycle has been announced. There are approximately 312 vacancies available. The exact number of vacancies will be confirmed later. Updated information on vacancies, including post-wise and category-wise details, will be provided on the Commission’s website. Candidates may note that State-wise/ Zone-wise vacancies are not collected by the Commission.

SSC JHT 2025 Apply Online

The applications for SSC Junior Hindi Translator Recruitment must be submitted online. The steps to submit the SSC JHT Application Form are as follows:

Step 1: Click on ‘Login or Register’ Button

Navigate to the SSC website and click on the ‘Login or Register’ button to begin the registration process.

Step 2: Access the ‘Register Now’ Option

In the small window that appears, click ‘Register Now’ at the bottom to proceed to the ‘One-Time Registration’ page.

Step 3: One-Time Registration Page

On the homepage, follow the steps outlined to fill in the ‘One-Time Registration’ form, and click ‘Continue’ to move to the personal details screen.

Step 4: Fill Personal Details

Enter essential details like Aadhaar Number, name, father’s name, mother’s name, and date of birth twice to ensure accuracy. Discrepancies will be highlighted in red.

Step 5: Registration Details Page

After verifying mobile and email OTP, click ‘Save & Next’ to store your ‘Personal Details.’ You will then be shown your Registration Number, which will also be sent to your mobile and email. 

Step 6: Login Screen with One-Time Password

Click ‘Continue’ to proceed to the login page. Use your Registration Number and the auto-generated password sent to your mobile and email for the initial login.

Step 7: Password Creation Page

Upon first login, you will be directed to change your password. Enter the old password sent via mobile/email and set a new password, following the on-screen validation criteria.

Step 8: Login with New Set Password

After changing the password, log in again using your Registration Number and new password to proceed to the additional details page.

Step 9: Additional Details Page

Complete additional details including Category, Nationality, permanent and present address, visible Identification Mark, and benchmark disabilities, if applicable.

Step 10: Declaration

Read the declaration carefully, check the “Preview OTR” and “I agree” boxes, then click ‘Declare’ to submit the declaration. This will redirect you to the dashboard.

Step 11: Start Filling Online Application Part 2

Log in using your Registration Number and Password, then click “Apply” in the “Combined Hindi Translators Examination, 2025” section under the “Live Exam” tab.

Step 12: Complete and Submit the Application

Ensure all details are correct in the preview, complete the declaration, and pay the application fee if applicable. Finally, submit the application and take a printout for your records.

SSC JHT Application Fee 2025

The Fee can be paid only through online payment modes, namely BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or by using Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, or RuPay Debit card. Online fee can be paid by candidates up to 26.08.2025 (23:00 hours). The application fee that has to be paid by the candidate is different as per the category and is mentioned below:

SSC JHT Selection Process 2025

In order to be recruited for the SSC JHT 2025, the candidates will have to go through the SSC JHT Selection Process that consists of a written test that includes two papers i.e, Paper-I (Computer Based Test) and Paper-II (Descriptive Test). Those candidates who have qualified in Paper-I will be then shortlisted for Paper-II.

Paper-I: Computer-Based Test (Objective)

The first stage of the SSC JHT exam is Paper-I, which is conducted in a computer-based mode and consists of objective-type questions. The test includes two sections: General Hindi and General English, each comprising 100 questions worth 100 marks. Candidates are allotted 2 hours to complete the exam, with an extended time of 2 hours and 40 minutes for VH/OH candidates. A negative marking of 0.25 marks is applicable for incorrect answers. 

Paper-II: Descriptive Test (Subjective)

Candidates who qualify Paper-I by securing the minimum qualifying marks will proceed to Paper-II, which is a descriptive test. This paper consists of translation and essay writing tasks, designed to evaluate the candidates’ ability to translate texts between Hindi and English accurately and their essay-writing skills in both languages. The total marks for Paper-II are 200, and candidates are given 2 hours to complete this test, with an extended time of 2 hours and 40 minutes for VH/OH candidates. 

Document Verification

Upon successfully passing both Paper-I and Paper-II, candidates will be called for the document verification stage. This stage involves verifying the authenticity of the candidates’ educational qualifications, age, category, and other relevant documents. Candidates must present original documents along with photocopies for verification. This step ensures that all candidates meet the eligibility criteria and have provided accurate information during the application process. 

Medical Examination

The final stage of the selection process is the medical examination. Candidates who have cleared the document verification stage will undergo a medical fitness test to ensure they are physically and medically fit for the job role. The medical examination is conducted as per the standards set by the Staff Selection Commission. Candidates must meet the required health standards, and any medical conditions that might affect their ability to perform the duties of the job will be assessed. 

SSC Junior Hindi Translator Eligibility 2025

Candidates who are willing to apply for the Junior Hindi Translator post must meet the SSC JHT Eligibility set by the conducting authority. Those candidates who fulfill the criteria only they are eligible for this post. The criteria are divided into age limit, education qualification which is stated below.

  • The SSC JHT post has an age limit of 18 to 30 years, with specific age relaxations for upper age limit candidates.
  • The age limit should be as on 01.08.2025, i.e., candidates born not before 02.08.1994 and not later than 01.08.2006 are eligible to apply.
  • Educational qualifications vary by position but generally include a Master’s degree in Hindi or English, with one language as a compulsory subject.
  • Additional qualifications include a recognized translation diploma or certificate or relevant translation work experience in government offices.
